How to teach it

  • 1Underneath defenders play man while both safeties bracket the deep halves as insurance.
  • 2Man defenders use inside leverage and funnel receivers toward the two-deep help.
  • 3Backers wall receivers out of the backfield before running with them.

Common mistakes to fix

  • !Corners playing outside leverage and losing the post into the seam; fix by leveraging inside toward the safety.
  • !Safeties jumping underneath routes and losing the deep half; fix by staying top-down over their half.
