Sam Blitz B-Gap

The Sam linebacker blitzes through the B-gap off the tackle's hip.

Concept: Sam attacks the B-gap while the tackle to that side pinches inside to open the lane.

How to teach it

  • 1The strong tackle pinches inside to occupy blockers and open Sam's B-gap lane.

Common mistakes to fix

  • !Sam blitzing too wide and getting kicked out; fix by aiming tight off the tackle's inside hip.
  • !Tackle not pinching and clogging Sam's lane; fix by having the tackle slant hard inside first.
