14UAttack blocks: Add get-off and block destruction so the front controls the line of scrimmage. Layer in the called blitz — one timed gap-shooter on the snap. Add the line stunt/twist to beat the offense's blocking rules. Teach the coverage drops behind the front and read run vs. pass. Combine front, pressure, and coverage — and disguise it pre-snap.

Every position's job

Attack the B gap off the offensive tackle's hip for pressure.

DT (Will's side)

Wide tackle slants inside to clear the rush lane for Will's B-gap blitz.

DT (other)

Wide tackle controls the far C gap.

OLB (strong)

Hold the strong D gap and contain.

OLB (weak)

Hold the weak D gap and contain.

LB (Mike)

Cover the vacated middle / hook or fill on run.

CB (strong)

Cover the strong receiver.

CB (weak)

Cover the weak receiver.

FS

Play single-high deep middle behind the blitz.

How to teach it

  • 1Will attacks the B gap while the wide tackle to that side slants inside to clear the lane — drill the slant-and-blitz combo.
  • 2Will reads pass first, plays the run if it shows.
  • 3The free safety plays single-high behind the pressure.

Common mistakes to fix

  • !The tackle doesn't slant inside and Will hits a blocker; fix by drilling the inside slant.
  • !The edge to that side leaves contain short; fix by keeping the edge on his D gap.
