Double Reverse

Ball goes tailback to wingback to a second wingback, flowing back to the original strong side.

Concept: Linemen show sweep flow then peel back to wall off the backside as the ball changes direction twice.

How to teach it

  • 1Linemen show sweep flow first, then peel back to wall off the backside.
  • 2Two clean handoffs are required — drill both mesh points relentlessly.
  • 3The ball ends up back on the strong side, so sell the misdirection fully.

Common mistakes to fix

  • !Ball-handling errors on two exchanges — fix by practicing each handoff separately then together.
  • !Linemen release too early and leave the backside open — fix by teaching the peel-back timing.
