Block the backside or fill for pursuit.
Pull and trap the first defender past the center, kicking him out.
Snap to the fullback, then block back on the backside gap.

Down-block inside or release to the second level.
Hinge and cut off backside pursuit.
How to teach it
- 1Quick-hitting trap — the fullback hits the weakside gap fast off the direct snap.
- 2Center blocks back while the weakside guard traps the first man past him.
- 3Let the trapped defender penetrate so he can be kicked out.
Common mistakes to fix
- !Trap guard is too slow — fix by teaching a flat, quick pull to the trap point.
- !Fullback hesitates — fix by drilling a downhill hit right off the snap.
