Rocket Toss Left
Mirror rocket toss to the left with the motion wing catching on the run to the edge.
Concept: Playside linemen reach and the slot arc-blocks the alley defender to spring the toss.
Grows with your players
Same play, more layers as they age up — teach it once and build on it every season for a consistent program.
- 8UIntroduce: Nail the snap/exchange, aim the right hole, and finish downhill.
- 10UAdd motion: Add pre-snap motion to stress the defense's edge.
- 12UAdd the pass: Add the play-action throw off this run action.
- 14UMaster it: Run it fast both directions and check into it by defensive look.
Every position's job

Reach playside, cut off backside.
Scoop/pull to seal backside.
Scoop the backside.
Stalk the corner.
Fake dive and fill for pursuit.
How to teach it
- 1Mirror the timing left; the slot's arc block on the alley defender is the key spring block.
- 2Reach footwork playside — heads across the defenders' outside shoulders.
- 3Wing catches on the run; never let him drift back to gather it.
Common mistakes to fix
- !Slot arcs too flat and misses the alley defender; fix by teaching a slight bucket step then flat to the alley.
- !Toss is too high/hard; fix with a soft, leading rocket toss reps.
