Every position's job

QB

Open left, take the snap, reverse pivot and hand to the tailback at the left off-tackle hole, then boot away to hold the backside.

TB

Jab left, aim for the outside hip of the left tackle, and follow the fullback's kickout and the pulling guard.

FB

Lead into the hole and kick out the edge defender with the inside shoulder toward the sideline.

Playside Tackle

Down-block the first defender inside to seal the running lane.

Playside Guard

Down-block the interior defender to wall off the backside pursuit.

Center

Block back on the backside A-gap to cover the pulling guard's vacated gap.

Backside Guard

Pull flat through the hole and lead-block the playside linebacker.

Backside Tackle

Hinge and cut off backside penetration.

TE

Down-block the end with the playside tackle and climb to the linebacker.

Wingback

Seal the outside force so contain can't squeeze the off-tackle lane.

How to teach it

  • 1Mirror the Power Right footwork to the left so kids learn both directions symmetrically.
  • 2Emphasize the pulling guard turning upfield tight off the down-blocks.
  • 3Tailback presses the outside hip of the tackle, then cuts off the guard's block.

Common mistakes to fix

  • !Backside guard pulls and drifts wide — fix with a cone marking the exact turn-up point in the hole.
  • !Tailback bounces outside too early — fix by teaching him to run downhill through the hole first.
