Best fit

Teams with a couple of athletes who can run the edge and a quarterback who can hand off and pitch cleanly from the gun.

Base formation & personnel

Five linemen with Y and X split to the strong side on the line, H in the slot and Z stacked directly behind X, F as the wing, and the QB in the gun. Every play runs to both hands.

Core philosophy

  • One look, five answers — Sweep, Blast, Dive, Counter, and Post all start from the same stacked picture.
  • Get your best athlete the ball in space on the edge, then punish the crash inside with Dive and Counter.
  • Built-in play-action (Post Pass) keeps the safety honest once the run is going.

Bread-and-butter plays

Stacked Sweep

F sweeps the strong-side edge behind both pulling guards.

Blocking: Both guards pull; Y kicks the force; C and backside tackle reach.

Ball: F on the pitch.

Stacked Blast

H hits the B-gap downhill behind the wing's lead block.

Blocking: Playside guard and tackle down-block; F leads; backside scoops.

Ball: H downhill off the mesh.

Stacked Dive

QB keeps on a quick dive up the A-gap.

Blocking: Playside drives its gaps; F leads the A-gap; Y seals the edge.

Ball: QB keep.

Stacked Counter

Misdirection back to the weak side behind two pullers.

Blocking: Backside guard and tackle pull to kick and wrap; playside down-blocks.

Ball: H on the counter after a jet fake.

Stacked Post Pass

Play-action shot with a post and a wheel.

Blocking: Line pass-sets; H stays in to protect.

Ball: QB reads the post first, then the wheel.
